Episode 118 - Haunted Harmonies with Villa Montezuma and Come Closer

Welcome to the first edition of a new series of Bobcast episodes, simply titled “Haunted Harmonies”. With these episodes, you’ll hear a little bit about the history and haunts of a particular paranormally active location, which is located somewhere in this great big haunted world of ours. Along with the history and haunts, let’s throw a band interview - a short one - into these episodes, because the Bobcast is PUNK. The rule is, the band has to be from the same town or area as the featured haunted location. In this case, we’re talking about San Diego, California’s Villa Montezuma, with the band of the episode being Come Closer. San Diego has a TON of haunted places, but I’m telling you, Villa Montezuma is the King/Queen of the Haunt Heap. Come Closer is likewise the cream of the crop in a sea of amazing bands from San Diego. The tales of strangeness from Villa Montezuma, the interview with J from Come Closer, a song titled “Get It Wrong” by Come Closer, this episode has it ALL. Brought to you by Good Life Digestive Health. Here are some links, legal stuff and sources used for the information provided in this episode:

Episode 79 - I Love The Fest

Fest 19 didn’t happen in 2020 and for both a good and terrible reason - Covid 19. The good folks of Fest did put together an incredible weekend of livestreams by a ton of bands that would’ve played the real world Fest and they called it “The Fest That Never Was”. I caught a bunch of those livestreams and it helped my mental state considerably. Well, I wanted to send a love letter to you, the listener of the Bobcast and to Fest. Here it is. A few of the bands I wouldn’t have missed at Fest 19 and also bands that I love dearly. Wolf-Face, NOMORE, Get Married, Danger Inc., Worriers and War On Women. Two songs each. Fest - I miss you, I love you and I will see you next year. Here’s a track listing -

Wolf-Face - With Or Without Boof & Wolf Like Me

NOMORE - Stars In Motion & Leaving

Get Married - Astrozombies & Skulls

Episode 72 - Dillinger Four Live at Soda Bar (San Diego, Ca. 3/7/2020)

This episode is a live recording of Dillinger Four playing some songs and was recorded on March 7th, 2020 at The Soda Bar in San Diego, California. This was one of the last shows in all of Punkdom before Covid 19 shut it all down, but what a way to go out! A total of 14 songs that are all about being a lonely kid growing up in the shadow of an overbearing father. Actually, I have no idea if that's what the songs are about, this is D4, not The Postal Service. Paddy talking shit between songs included for free. My personal favorite quote of his from this show? “Donald Trump told me not to take my pants off. But I DID take my fucking pants off!”. Here’s a track listing:

1. Noble Stabbings

2. Super Powers Enable Me To Blend In With Machinery

3. A Jingle For The Product

4. Folk Song

5. Mosh For Jesus

6. A Floater Left With Pleasure In The Executive Washroom

7. Suckers Intl. Has Gone Public

8. Let Them Eat Thomas Paine

9. Maximum Piss And Vinegar

10. DoubleWhiskeyCokeNoIce

11. Gainsville

12. = Putting The “F” Back In “Art”

13. The Great American Going Out Of Business Sale

14. Sally MacLannane

Episode 71 - 80's LA Punk & Epitaph Records Trivia with Raging Nathans

Welcome to another trivia challenege episode, this time with the Raging Nathans of Dayton, Ohio! Round one questions are all about 1980’s Los Angeles punk rock and hardcore. Round two questions are all about 1980’s and 1990’s Epitaph Records bands and Round three is sorta-kinda a mix of the two topics. There are four songs by the Raging Nathans off of their new record “Oppositional Defiance” in this episode, in this order - Signals, Stargazing, One Day Closer To Death and Spoiled Brat. What you REALLY need to here is the intro audio drama/comedy that is a play on the Dragnet TV series of yesteryear. Episode 70 - Dr. Frank of Mr. T Experience Interview

Dr. Frank of the Mr. T Experience, the catchiest band to “catch” my heart and ears, has been making music since the early 1980’s. That’s almost 40 years. Can I get a “HOLY SHIT”? For someone to do absolutely anything for 40 years is such a huge accomplishment, to have written so many incredible songs and done as much rad stuff in those 40 years as Dr. Frank has? Inconcievable, but there it is. Dr. Frank and I had a talk via Facetime in the summer of 2020 about some stuff. His early years prior to Mr. T Experience, how the MTX reissue campaign came to be, Dr. Frank answered some questions asked by fans I got via a Facebook Lookout! Records group, plus the notorious I Wanna Party With Bob ghost and burrito questions! So much good stuff, how could there POSSIBLY be more?!?!? There is more. Four MTX songs - And I Will Be With You, Ba Ba Ba Ba Ba, I Fell For You and Dumb Little Band. Listen, enjoy and fall back in love with the catchiest band that ever did band stuff. Episode 62 - Endless Sommar Trivia Challenge

I love trivia, that’s no secret. Whenever I get an opportunity to write some questions and host some rad people in a trivia gameshow type of challenge, I’m all for it. My pals at Paper Street Cuts record recently released a super-duper awesome record called “Endless Sommar” that is a four way split between these bands - Lightweight, Slow Draw, Allweather and Sad Girlz Club. Wooooah, quite the line-up, I know and filled with my favorite bands around today. This episode is filled with fun, I’m gonna play ALL the songs off of Endless Sommar, I host my pals Uriel, Miski and Joe through three rounds of trivia questions relating to 80’s Hair Metal and 90’s Pop-Punk and the winner gets a copy of the record! How rad is that? Super rad. Here are some links to where YOU can buy this record, plus the bands and this episode’s sponsors -

Episode 59 - Daryl "Doc " Wilson Interview

Daryl Wilson is an amazing human being, I’m just going to get that out of the way now. Lead singer of The Bollweevils, Doctor, family man, my friend. Pre-pandemic, when we still had live shows, the Doc’s “injury reports” after each Bollweevils live show were a humorous break from the hum drum, a postive and funny thing to read on social media. Funny to an extent - I always felt a little bad for Doc when reading, as we’re the same age, or damn close and I know how much worse things hurt now than when I was 25. Daryl isn’t your run-of-the-mill singer, either, he’s all over the place and almost a one man show when The Bollweevils are playing. Besides all of that, Daryl has incredible insight into what it is to simply be human. We talk about skateboarding, punk rock, doctor stuff, racism and so much more. Four songs by The Bollweevils are also in this one - “Rodney”, “Pressure Cooker”, “Talk” and “Wrong From Right”. There are also PSA’s from the Chicago Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression and Black Lives Matter Chicago. Here are some links!

Episode 58 - Turkish Techno / Tracy Soto / Cigarette Machine

Riverside, California is home to a triad of turds, a trio of titilating troubadors - Turkish Techno, Tracy Soto and Cigarette Machine. In this episode, I’m joined by Andy and Roger of ALL of these bands. That’s right, these workaholic music people have their paws in a three band sized pot of honey. Oh, the bands all sound oh-so sweet. Solid pop-punk / melodic punk just like all the bands you love, but better. There are two songs by Turkish Techno and two songs by Tracy Soto - Cigaette Machine has yet to record any tuneage. These songs will get the job done, no joke. Green Day trivia is also in this episode, up to the “Warning” era. Most importantly, we talk about white privilage and interacting with the police cops - and how much different things would be for us were we POC. Protests, Gen Z and fixing shit are also on the menu here. Here are some link to the bands and this episode’s PSAs -

Episode 55 - Tiltwheel Talks Hair Brained Scheme Addicts

Tiltwheel has been a band since 1992, in some form or another. That’s a long time and now we’re old as shit. 1999 was the year that Davey, Ross, Squire and Bob went into a studio to get drunk and record Hair Brained Scheme Addicts. The audio for this episode was taken from a recent Zoom call (all set up by Davey, he’s smart) wherein we sat around, some of us drank and talked all things Hair Brained. Inbetween the talking parts you’re gonna hear the record in it’s entirety. Here’s a track listing!

1. Texas 10 2. All I Care About Is Me, My Rum And You 3. Song That Used To Be Called Aaron’s Song 4. 2:07 AM 5. Rinse 6. Al Quint Is An Emo Pussy 7. Battle Hymn For The Recluse Youth Part 2 8. Battle Hymns For The Recluse Youth Part 1 9. Whisper To A Scream 10. Lullaby 11. Wonder Beer (BONUS TRACK!!!)

Episode 47 - The History Of Tiltwheel Part 8

The year is 2004 and the band is Tiltwheel. Highlights include - Punk Rock Bowling #6 (LASERS AND WATER!!!), a tour of the Pacific Northwest, where a struggle against rednecks and toilets ensue, the Rythym Chicken drops in for a bit and a contest of wills takes place. Or just drinking, it was just a drinking contest against the Chicken. Who do YOU think won? The 4th of July from hell, Fest #3 and lastly, the time Tiltwheel pretended to be Slayer. Epispde 46 - Mike "Dumps" Bruno Interview

Mike Bruno wears so many hats. This is a figurative statement, not literal. Owner and operator of Long Island, New York’s Dead Broke Rekerds. Bassmaster of Iron Chic. Bass dude and one of the singer dudes in Adult Magic. Mike is busy, and for that I am very glad - the world would be a much more dreary place without Iron Chic, Adult Magic and Dead Broke. Don’t forget Mike’s part bands like Down In The Dumps, after all, that is how he got the name Mike Dumps. History is important! Well, in this episode, Mike and I talked for a bit about all things Mikey Dumps - bands and music stuff, horror movies, life on Long Island and more. Horror movies? Yes, there’s a trivia challenge in this episode and it’s all about horror movies. Songs by Down In The Dumps, Adult Magic and Iron Chic. Here are some links for you to enjoy -

Episode 31 - Ben Snakepit

I recently had the opportunity to travel to San Francisco and have a talk with Ben Snakepit. This podcast is the result, a partial food coma (from Taqueria Cancun) couldn’t even stop us from talking about some great stuff. Ben’s track record? 38 bands (by his counting), a comic a day for 19 years and 8 books. Ben is a prolific and busy fellow! What word would you use to describe a human if you were a Klingon? That’s in here. Is your DIY punk lifestyle aimless and off track? Listen to this one for “The Rules” .And, of course, that old Bobcast standby, where to find the greatest burrito in the world. Fun, fact-filled and the world’s trickiest word association. All in this episode. Check out some of this stuff below -

Episode 29 - The History Of Tiltwheel Part 6 - Too Many Bass Players

Proving that a lot can happen in a short time, here comes the Tiltwheel History series - Chapter Six. Covering the years of 2000 until 2003, the years of the many bass players. We had 5 within that period, plus two versions of the band. Wow. Well, one quit, one dissappeared, one was in Texas Tiltwheel, one (very, very sadly) passed away and the final fellow joined up at the begining of 2003. Highs of those times? A very, very drunken trip to Punk Rock Bowling #3 with bassmaster Lenny in 2001. A crazy and also crazy fun tour with The Thumbs with bassdude Andy in September of 2001. Fun, drinking, recording “Twice The Dose” in 2002 with Jarrod, the Baron Of Bass. Lastly, Sir Paul Of Slowfelt assumes the bass throne in early 2003. And Texas Tiltwheel Kris gets a mention or two. Lows? Our dear friend, brother and bandmate Jarrod passed away on December 8th of 2002. I still think about him every day. 212 Por Vida, homie. Here are some relevant links to your intersets -

Episode 26 - Dead Bars

November here on the I Wanna Party With Bob podcast has been all about Fest 18. The people I talked to, spent time with, the bands I saw and loved. Oh, I had a time, the best time. I saved this one for last, to send off the month of November with an explosion of good stuff. Dead Bars as a band, musicaly speaking? Insanely great. John as a person? The best dude. So here we go. Dead Bars closes out this month of fun and great stuff with part of the song “Freaks” at the start of the episode and closing with the epic song “You Never Left” at the very end. In between is the talk I had with John. Honestly, that was a refreshing conversation. John has great things to say about what it is to be a band, what drives him to be in Dead Bars and why you can always find him at the merch booth when they’re playing a show. He’s driven, focused and passionate about Dead Bars and, goddamn, it shows. Refreshing because John kind of showed me what can happen when you put your heart into what you are doing. Good things happen, that’s what, and sometimes I need that reminder. We all need that reminder, sometimes. So listen to this one, buy some Dead Bars records and see them when they hit your town, because at some point they probably will. Here are your links, good people of the podcast -
