Episode 132 - Canadian Creeps and Cryptids with Haunted History BC

Canada is well known for hokey, poutine and cold weather. Eh? Yes, I also know Canada for Corner Gas and some of the best punk rock in the world (Anti-Queens, duh!). What about the ghosts and cryptids of our friendly neighbors to the north? Not content with another episode about Waverly or Whaley House, in this one, I turn to Gina and Victoria of Haunted History BC, those Canadian Mavens of Morbid Mayhem, for answers. We’ll talk about the sisters’ history in the paranormal, how they conduct investigations, their mascot, Onyx The Crow and more. The “more” being several stories of Canadian haunted places and cryptids!!! Good stuff, eh? Last “eh?” joke, I promise. Those Pennsylvanian Purveyors of PUNK, Advocaat, generously grace us with the song “Ghost” in this one, too. BOOOO, eh!!! Sorrrry about that. Cemetery and Onyx the Crow photo by Haunted History BC. In this episode of the Bobcast, we’ll hear a little of Robyn’s strange and lovely family history and one particular paranormal event. A ghost story. Robyn’s ghost story.

Episode 121 - Mike Wiebe Interview (Riverboat Gamblers, Drakulas)

Mike Wiebe of The Riverboat Gamblers and Drakulas. He’s the tall, good looking one that jumps around and sings in both bands, by the way. Mike sets sail on the WeirdBoat, the Bobcast, to talk about paranormal stuff, his bands and more in this episode. Strange car rides on Santa Fe Baldy in New Mexico, strange lights in the sky in Denton, Texas and a Goatman. And the Goatman’s Bridge. Creepy, spooky and awesomely atrotious stories, in other words. Plus, a retelling by yours truly of one of the many legends that surround Goatman’s Bridge in Denton, Texas. I personally would not visit Goatman’s Bridge. Too scary, especially after I read all about it. Yikes. Music of the episode provided by Drakulas and the Riverboat Gamblers with the songs “Dark Black” and “Don’t Bury Me (I’m Still Not Dead)” respectively. Here are some links!

Episode 118 - Haunted Harmonies with Villa Montezuma and Come Closer

Welcome to the first edition of a new series of Bobcast episodes, simply titled “Haunted Harmonies”. With these episodes, you’ll hear a little bit about the history and haunts of a particular paranormally active location, which is located somewhere in this great big haunted world of ours. Along with the history and haunts, let’s throw a band interview - a short one - into these episodes, because the Bobcast is PUNK. The rule is, the band has to be from the same town or area as the featured haunted location. In this case, we’re talking about San Diego, California’s Villa Montezuma, with the band of the episode being Come Closer. San Diego has a TON of haunted places, but I’m telling you, Villa Montezuma is the King/Queen of the Haunt Heap. Come Closer is likewise the cream of the crop in a sea of amazing bands from San Diego. The tales of strangeness from Villa Montezuma, the interview with J from Come Closer, a song titled “Get It Wrong” by Come Closer, this episode has it ALL. Brought to you by Good Life Digestive Health. Here are some links, legal stuff and sources used for the information provided in this episode:

Episode 115 - Ghost Stories Volume IV

The long-awaited return of the “Ghost Stories” series. Yes, 8 months, to be exact. Well! Are you in for some chilling tales in this episode? You are, so please join me on this journey into the boundless realm of the supernatural. Ghost Stories Volume IV is the name, scaring the pants off of you is the game. There are stories by paranormal investigators Kinedy of The Haunted Times, Amanda of Spook-Eats, Courtney of The Ghoul Guide and Amanda Paulson of Pretty Fn Spooky. And Gregory, we mustn’t forget Gregory. All of the stories are amazing, each one has something very spooky and special to offer. The locations in which the stories take place, you ask? The Thomas House in Tennessee, Waverly Hills Sanatorium in Kentucky, the Ghost Light Theatre in New York and the grand finale, the Lizzie Borden House in Massachusetts. I hope I spelled “Massachusetts” correctly. BOOOO me. if I did not. Did I mention the date this episode is being released, August 4th of 2021, is the 129 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF THE LIZZIE BORDEN HOUSE MURDERS!?!?!? It’s true. Weird, right? The Celluloid Catacombs also returns in this episode, this time, Carolyn Mauricette is discussing the film “In Fabric”, a tale of a haunted red dress. Episode 103 - Paranormal Ponderings Part II with Maria Wessenauer

The Paranormal Ponderings series continues with Part II, this time it’s all about haunted places and horrifying history! More creepy history than horrifying, I suppose? As with all of the “Paranormal Ponderings” episodes, I brought in an expert to discuss the subject of the episode. Haunted Places? Creepy History? Maria Wessenauer of Hollywood Exhumed has the facts, the details and the experiences that fill in all the blanks with this one! Maria has such a wealth of knowledge about the morbid history of the Los Angeles area, I believe her knowledge could fill an encyclopedia - a creepy compendium, if you will. Plus she’s had several experiences of strange and possibly paranormal phenomena herself! Music of the episode provided by Liverpool, England’s finest fiends, Zombina And The Skeletones. Plus! Ivy Boyd drops by with another edition of her “Mysterious Musings” series for the Bobcast, with some tales of terror from the Rosenheim Mansion in Los Angeles. Turn on the lights and turn up the volume, it’s time to get paranormal. Here are some links!

Episode 91 - Haunted Dolls

What is it about haunted and possibly paranormal dolls that is just so damn terrifying? The thought that an inanimate and cuddly object could be the source of your demise? Is it that dolls are a trusted and comforting presence from our childhood, so when they get weird, it’s like a personal betrayal? Or is it just that dolls in general are creepy because of the “Uncanny Valley” and they all might as well be haunted, they’re so damn creepy anyway? Maybe you won’t find the answers to those questions in this episode. But what you WILL find are the stories of two very famous haunted dolls, Annabelle and Robert. Plus, the newest addition to this trio of terrible toys, Betty the doll. Betty has some history on the Bobcast (Check out the “Ghost Stories Part 3 episode), so this is a sort of follow-up episode on the Betty front. Amanda Paulson and Cherise Williams first investigated Betty, now she’s in the hands of the good folks at The Hexfiles Podcast. Josh and Tamara of Hexfiles join me to talk about their experiences with Betty in this episode and they have some surprising and spooky tales to tell. Also in this episode is a new feature, a segment of the Bobcast titled “Mysterious Musings With Ivy Boyd”. Ivy starts the episode out in style with some information and theories relating to haunted dolls. The music of the episode is fittingly and fearfuly perfect, with Deadbolt, Houseghost and Devil Doll forming the soundtrack for these stories of sometimes deadly, sometimes dreadful dolls. Episode 88 - Best Of 2020

A “Year In Review” for a year like 2020 was a rough thing to sort out. 2020 sucked. No denying that, right? Well, at least on the Bobcast, 2020 was a great year. Starting out with the conclusion of the Danzig Trilogy and ending with the Paul Tremblay interview, mix in a ton of incredible songs by incredible bands, I can’t complain about 2020 from the podcast point of view. Here’s what you’re getting in this fun-filled episode - Excerpts from the Danzig Series conclusion, the Joe Wood interview, the James Baldwin episode, the Katie Burr interview and the Paul Tremblay interview. A ghost story by Gared O’Donnell of Planes Mistaken For Stars from the very first Bobcast “Ghost Stories” episode. Songs by Lost Avenue, Sarchasm, Le Saboteur, The Bollweevils, Dillinger Four, Get Married and The Hybrids. Sense Field closes this “Best Of…” episode out with a cover of the song “Happy Christmas (War Is Over”. Happy New Year and here’s to a MUCH better year in 2021.

Episode 86 - Ghost Stories Volume III

Gather ‘round the Yule Log, it’s time for some chilling tales of haunted horrors! Ghost Stories Volume III has arrived under the Bobcast tree, just in time for Xmas. Ivy Boyd of the Creepin’ It Real podcast and Ghoul’s Trip blog starts things off with some creepy Christmas ghost stories. Maria of Hollywood Exhumed tells a tale of a departed Uncle who likes to stop by unannounced, even after his passing. Darrin Pfieffer (formerly) of Goldfinger and (currently of) The Dangerous Darrin Show describes what a former girlfriend experienced at a haunted music venue in Buffalo, NY - which was also one of Al Capone’s former “haunts”. Ceasar stays one unforgettable night in the famously phantasmal Jerome Grand Hotel. CJ Frederick of Dead Bars fame tells a chillingly familiar story from the wilds of Jeresey City. And maybe CJ needs a visit from the Ghost Of Xmas Future, ya know, to straighten him out a little. Finally, Amanda of the Pretty F’n Spooky blog and YouTube channel, along with Cherise Williams, talk about their experiences with a VERY haunted doll named Betty. Yikes. The songs of the episode tie everything together, very fitting and very awesome - Parasites, Tsunami Bomb, Night Birds and Pulley help summon the spirits for this one, wherever they’re at. Episode 83 - 2020 Thanksgiving Special

2020 has been garbage. Poop. Awful and filled with daily horrors. As we near the end of 2020, things are starting to look up a little bit, right? Biden won the US Presidency, a vaccine is coming for covid 19 and it is finally, finally the holidays. We made it. Thanksgiving is traditionally the start of the “holiday season”, though Halloween starts the festivities as far as I’m concerned. Can we just have Halloween once a month? I digress. This episode is a recipe for what makes up a typical Bobcast. An amazing ghost/paranormal encounter-type story from Ivy of the Ghoul’s Trip Blog and Creepin’ It Real podcast, a round of San Diego music trivia with the fine fellows of the Palapalooza podcast and lastly, a tale of revenge against the person that might be the worst person in music today - Morrissey. Worst person, best songs? Such a love/hate thing with me and Morrissey. A new feature to the Bobcast is in this one, Crusty’s Corner, a sort of Canadian connection that is so, so rad. Music of the episode provided by Houseghost, Hiding From Humans and Fun People. Episode 81 - Haunted Arkansas

Let’s go to Northern Arkansas! I bet you don’t hear that very often, do you? Well. The Northern regions of Arkansas, especially the Northwest and North Central regions, are gorgeous. Green, mountain-y, rivers, lakes, outdoor activities to the end of time. What lurks INSIDE of Northern Arkansas, certain places that are located in Northern Arkansas? Ghosts. Spirits. Phantasms galore. This part of the country is so goshdanged haunted, it’s ridiculous. We’ll visit Cotter Bridge, with a little descriptive history and a completely made-up short story by yours truly. The ghosts around Cotter Bridge are real, ohhh yes they are. Next is Mountain Village 1890, located in Bull Shoals of North Central Arkansas. Colonel Jordan of the Confederate Loser Association of 1865 and his former home are the subject of this segment, featuring my personal experiences with him. Finally, we make a stop at the Crescent Hotel of lovely Eureka Springs, the most haunted hotel in the USA. Ghosts in the basement? THE MORGUE? Indeed. Here we go, let’s get HAUNTED. This one utilizes a couple of European fiddle settings from Quantum Ra. It's somewhat inspired by the music from an area in Northrend of World of Warcraft. There's a very relaxing duet of rustic fiddles that plays in the background in that area, so I wanted to play around with those sounds and this is what I came up with.

Let me know what you think. :)

Episode 78 - Halloween Special with Paranormal Investigator Katie Burr

Happy Halloween and Happy Hauntings! Welcome to the second annual Bobtober Halloween Special! We’re not talking directly about Halloween in this one, we’re delving into regions beyond for this final Bobtober episode. Katie Burr is the subject and paranormal investigating is her specialty. Katie has seen and experienced things that would make lesser people give in and give up, but not Katie. She handles the hurdles of hauntings with grace, a sturdy mind and determination to delve into the secrets of the spectral world more than ever. One of the aspects of this interview that makes it so special and perfect for a Halloween Special? The interview took place at El Adobe De Capistrano, a supposedly VERY haunted location in San Juan Capistrano, California. In the former jail, now a wine cellar. The most haunted location in the building. Yes. Did the happy haunts receive our sympathetic vibrations and materialize? Listen and find out. Featuring songs by Alexisonfire and Thursday and brought to you by Discount Cemetery. Here are some links and legal stuff.

Episode 73 - Ghost Stories Volume II

I love a good ghost story. So, I’ve gathered eight of them here, told by the people that experienced these paranormal phantasms. This one features a star-studded cast of creeps, including - Billy Liar (solo artist), Ryan Disney (no, not THAT Disney), Jesse Wagner (The Aggrolites & UXB), Amanda Paulson (Pretty FN Spooky blog and YouTube channel), Fernando Cruz (Run For Your Fucking Life, Bumbklaatt), Mitch Wilson (No Knife, Funeral March), Greg Hetson (Bad Religion, Circle Jerks) and Ron Martinez (Final Conflict, Lower Class Brats). Each story is incredible - from a “Hat Man” story (look it up - scary!!!), to a kid who spent part of his youth living in a graveyard, to phantom footsteps and bellmen from beyond the grave, I’m telling you, this episode has the best ghost stories I’ve ever heard. There is music, as always, of course. Billy Liar with the song “The Ghosts Of Punk Rock”, UXB with “Night Marchers, No Knife with “Hit Man Dreams” and Dear Boy with a cover of the Psychedelic Furs song “The Ghost In You”. Did you catch all the songs sorta-kinda reference ghosts? Good job, you’re paying attention! One last thing before you go to the light - if you let me know via social media (search on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter “I Wanna Party With Bob”) which story is your favorite, you can win a t-shirt from Discount Cemetery and a gorgeously gruesome zippo lighter and case from Wicked Monster Workshop! Vote and win! Turn on the lights, burn some sage and fire up your podcast player - this one will scare the ecctoplasm out of anyone - living OR undead.

Episode 64 - Ghost Stories Volume 1

Ready for Atrocious August? I am. Let’s start the month off right with a “Boo”cast filled with chills, frights and unnatural delights. This episode has a total of eight ghost and paranormal / supernatural encounters as told to me by the people that experienced them. Vanishing customers, swirling clouds of chaos and killer closets are but a small sample of the ghoulish delights awaiting you in this episode. Stories were told to me by Troy Taylor, Davey Tiltwheel, Pleasant Gehman, Donna Ramone, Gared O’Donnell and more! A bit of advice? Leave the lights on for this one, trust me. Music by The Marked Men, Black Breath, The Riverboat Gamblers and Planes Mistaken For Stars. This episode is brought to you by the creepiest of clothiers, the fiends of Discount Cemetery. Special thanks to Darren Curtis, who provided the spooky sounds at the beginning of the episode and during the stories. Prepare to be scared. Here are some links!

Episode 41 - Ghost Hunt And Interview With Ash Williams

The band Ash Williams of San Diego is calling it quits after ten years of being awesome. On this episode of the Bobcast, join me in sending them off in style. Pat and Uriel of Ash Williams sat and talked with me for a while about all kinds of stuff, but the horror movie trivia part of the interview is my favorite. Then, Pat, Uriel and I went on a ghost hunting excursion to San Diego’s Hotel Cosmopolitan, specifically room 11. We found a couple of interesting “things”, you’ll see. Ghost cat? Yes. This episode also features 4 (yes FOUR) Ash Williams songs. Ash Williams gets four songs because they are THAT good. Now, let’s go hang with the GOAT for a bit and get spooky, silly and rad. Episode 40 - Ghost Hunting With Se Vende

When I asked Jonny, of the San Diego punk rock band Se Vende, whether or not he believed in ghosts his reply scared me silly. Jonny had quite the ghostly experience in an old, abandoned warehouse he lived in many years ago. The warehouse is still there, still abandoned, but not completely uninhabited, if you catch my drift. Something spooky is going on in the “Meat Locker”, the most menacing sounding warehouse I’ve ever heard of. In this episode, I’m joined by Jonny, Collin and Bre of Se Vende, plus Bre’s sister, Chloe, on a weird walkthrough of the extremely creepy warehouse of doom. We made it out without any problems, but we were prepared - which begs the question - are YOU prepared and brave enough to listen? I double dog dare you. This episode also features two songs by Se Vende, a section on how to ghost hunt, the history of the Meat Locker and then audio of the ghost hunt itself. Press play, if you dare. Episode 37 - Ghosts Of Mesa Verde

Let’s take a spiritual and mystical journey to the mysterious Mesa Verde. Mesa Verde was home to thousands of the Ancestral Puebloan people - who up and disappeared, more or less all at once. What!?!? This is true. You’ll get the scoop on what happened to these people in this episode. Plus, a ghostly encounter my family had during a recent visit to Mesa Verde. Spooky. Best of all, two songs by the band Planes Mistaken For Stars and an interview with Captain of the good ship PMFS, Gared O’Donnell. Come for the stories, stay for the music kind of thing, you betcha. A condensed history of Mesa Verde and the incredible cliff dwellings that made Mesa Verde famous is also in this one. Here are some links!

Episode 17 - Two Guns, Arizona

Two Guns, Arizona is quite a place. It’s random, apparently. Situated right off of Interstate 40 about 30 miles east of Flagstaff, AZ - however, at one point Two Guns was a fairly major tourist attraction on the first road that went from Chicago to Santa Monica, Route 66. Cursed? Haunted? Oh yes, Two Guns is. Both of the forementioned. Crazy uncomfortable feelings there that lasted well into the next day. I think I caught a little of the curse. Don’t worry, though. I’ve been spiritualy cleared since then. No shit. That’s how serious I feel about this place. Check out the Bobcast for some in depth history of the area, but formost in my mind is the Apache Death Cave. Yeah. Death. Cave. It is as bad as it sounds, if not worse. Buildings don’t last here. Nor human lives, apparently. Check it out.

Episode 13 - Oatman, AZ

Take an audio journey with me to the rough and tumble Oatman, Arizona. What do you have to lose, except nothing at all? That’s right, I’m calling you out. Listen to my ding-danged podcast! Ok, enough. So Oatman is pretty rad. A very cool story about how the town got it’s name, a lovely ghost story involving Clark Gable and Carole Lombard and a story about a drunken Irishman who is still apparently trying to find the shitter in the afterlife. Also, most importantly, a song by the incredible Playboy Manbaby!!!! Arizona’s finest band, and I mean that. They’re unique and special and are singlehandedly keeping rock ‘n roll alive. Check it out, then check out these links -
